S1 Pupils Demonstrate Bridge Building Skills

In S1 recently, pupils have been learning about different kinds of bridges. They have been working together to produce the longest cable-stayed bridge in the history of Wick High School!
Each pair has made a section and then the sections have been connected together to form a 9m long structure similar to the Millau Viaduct in France (pictured below). Teamwork, design and quality control have been vital to the success of the project.
Pupils have also been learning about bridge engineers and are embarking on a poster infographic involving types of bridges, engineers and timeline.
