S2 Charity Challenge

During PSE, S2 pupils successfully worked in groups to research, visit, and create presentations about well-deserving charities with a focus on local social issues. Each PSE class held semi-final presentations in the Dance Studio with the cream of the crop going into the final. The final consisted of 7 brilliant presentations which were shown to the S1 audience, a panel of judges, and members from the charities represented.

The finalists included:

  • Murray, Connor, Robert, Logan, Rory representing Caithness Klics;
  • Liam, Ruaridh, Will, Lucas representing Wick Paths Group;
  • Bethany, Kloe, Erna and Kara representing RDA;
  • Callum, Cameron, Liam, Riley, Philip representing Caithness Foodbank;
  • Lily, Olivia, Blayr representing Cancer Research;
  • Allea, Ashlyn, Caitlin, Cara, Izzy, Kayci also representing Caithness Klics;
  • Aurora, Gracie and Natalie representing CASWA.

All pupils involved did a fantastic job at showcasing some of the brilliant charity work that takes place in Wick and beyond.

The judges had a tough decision to make but the worthy winners were Bethany, Kloe, Erna and Kara from 2M whose presentation included a blind-folded assault-course to showcase the brilliant work that our local Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) branch does.

The photo below showcases most of our brilliant finalists. The Guidance Team would like to say a huge well done to all of the S2s who put in lots of time, effort, and dedication into their research and presentations. Also a huge thank you to the local charities who give a lot of time and energy into supporting the young people with their research and presentations.
