Friday 1st November saw the running of the second annual WHS Cross Country Competition. A hardy band of 75 S1-3 pupils turned out for the 2.5km race around the school grounds in fine autumnal conditions.
Competitors earned house points for their placing against runners in their respective year groups which will contribute to the house sports award at the end of the year. There were some impressive performances and a lot of grit and determination on show throughout the event with some extremely tight finishes decided in the final straight.
A huge well done to all who took part and a massive thank you to Tina Gibson (Active Schools Coordinator) and the team of volunteers from North Highland Harriers for their help with the organisation, setting up and scoring of the event – it couldn’t happen without them.
The participants are pictured with the top finishers kneeling in the front row. Top 3 individuals in each event were as follows
S1 Boys: 1st Olly Forbes, 2nd Rory Donaldson, 3rd Charlie Breeze
S1 Girls: 1st Alaina Jones
