‘Future Chef’ – 2nd Round Results

Some of our pupils have been involved in the Future Chef cooking competition recently. Miss Swanson, their Home Economics teacher, told us more…
On Friday the 18th of January two second year pupils took part in the second round of a national cooking competition, Future Chef. The pupils were required to make a two course meal, a warm main and a cold/warm dessert. Freya Lamb made a beef burger stuffed with cheese served with sweet potato fries for her main, and for her dessert she made chocolate fondant served with orange cream and a chocolate crumb. Ewan Bartlett made manti served with a tomato sauce and broccoli for his main, and he made a winter fruit salad for his dessert.
Unfortunately both pupils narrowly missed out on winning this round, however both received very positive feedback – Ewan was praised for making his own pasta and Freya was told by the chefs that she made the best dessert.
Well done to everyone involved; the food looks delicious.
