Remembrance Day Marked By Wick High School

Today Wick High School remembered former pupils whose lives were lost in the service of their country. As well as the entire school observing a two-minute silence at 11am we were honoured to have members of the local British Legion branch, lead by our Parent Council Chairman, Mr Richard Otley, give a poignant presentation and remembrance service in the school’s foyer where plaques commemorating ex-pupils of the school who lost their lives in both World Wars are located following the move from our old building.

It was an impeccably observed event made all the more powerful by the reading of the names of the fallen by current students, and members of local cadet forces, Robert Otley, George Rothera and Jack Cormack.

We will also have representatives attending the service in Wick on Sunday.

The school would like to thank the members of the local British Legion who gave so kindly of their time. It was a pleasure and an honour to have you all visit our school.
