Madrid 2017 Football Trip – A ‘Real’ Success.

Over the last week of the October holidays a group of students from Wick and Thurso High Schools traveled to Madrid, Spain to experience a once-in-a-lifetime visit to the Spanish captial and specifically to its two world-class football teams Atletico and Real Madrid.
Lead by teaching brothers Mr S and Mr C Ross and assisted by Mrs Geddes (THS), Mr Sandecki and Mr Hely (WHS PE Dept) the group visited the Spanish FA headquarters to play local football teams (sadly, Scotland failed to register a win on the international stage losing all three games); visited the recently built Wanda Metropolitano, home stadium of Atletico; visited a local theme park and, the highlight of the trip, received coaching and football advice from Real Madrid staff before visiting their Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to take in the Spanish league match between Real and Eibar.
All in all it was a marvelous experience for all involved. We hope to have some of the lads involved in the trip write about their experiences and post them here but in the meantime below are some photos of the group.
Many thanks to all involved for making such a superb trip happen.
