Wick High School Prize Giving 2017 – Winners & Photos

We recently held our annual Prize Giving ceremony which recognises the academic achievements of our senior school pupils. This year we were delighted to have local businessman and former pupil of the school, Mr William Watt, to speak to the assembled pupils and parents about the journey that he has taken from our school to becoming a major figure in  the county’s business community through his role as a General Manager of SubSea 7.

The ceremony culminated in the most prestigious award in the school; that of The Dux of the school which this year was awarded to Sarah Sinclair with Mari-Ann Ganson being awarded Proxime Accessit to The Dux.

Other notable winners included Andreas Ramsoy (Winner of The Harvard University Prize and The Supporting Young Pupils Award); Erin Mackenzie (Winner of The Subsea 7 Prize for best performance in S4 Technical subjects); Corin Murphy (Winner of The Kevin Costello Memorial Prize for endeavour in Science); Caitlyn Taylor (Winner of The Ackergill Tower Trophy for best work at Advanced Higher level) and Greg Morgan and Beth Harper (Winners of The David Lockie Memorial Prize for Technical subjects).

Congratulations to all the prize winners (a full list is available for download below) and to Mr Watt for his superb speech.
