Hello,

As this is Children’s Mental Health week I would like to take the chance to introduce myself.  My name is Elaine and I am the School Counsellor and with me is my apprentice Coco; much cuter than me 😂. 

I have been working with the school in the background for a number of years now and a few months ago Mr Mackenzie asked me if I would be willing to take on a more permanent role.  I have been with you now since December and if you are ever looking for me I am there on a Monday or Tuesday.  Even through this lockdown I have continued to offer face to face support within the school as it is a tough old time for a lot of you right now; although I am sure some of you are not too sad about working from home!  

Once everything settles down a bit and we get a bit of normality back in our lives – and I include stressed out parents and teachers in that – we will be looking to engage directly with you all to support mental health within the school.  If anyone wants to contact me then my email address for the school is elaine.cameron@wickhigh.org.uk or contact the Guidance team or Mr Mackenzie .  

I will be posting on the school Facebook page; anything you want some help with or topics you would like me to talk about and share information on, then just let me know.  And who knows, maybe some time in the future when my apprentice passes her exams she might be able to join us! 😊
