Maths Challenge Success For WHS Pupils

Despite the challenges of lockdown, pupils at Wick High School still managed to compete in this years’ UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. The JMC is a 60 minute multiple choice competition that encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. Every year thousands of pupils from across the UK take part in the competition and this year 14 Wick High School pupils were able to participate. S2 pupil, Orrin Lyons, achieved top marks and received the award for “Best in School”. Pictured are the pupils, and their certificates, with Mr Sandecki, Acting Rector.
Congratulations to all of these young mathematicians.
