We had an accident in the school bus lane on Tuesday morning which resulted in a pupil who was standing on the pavement being hit by the tail end of a school bus as it moved away after dropping off passengers.

To reduce the risk of such an accident happening again, we ask that pupils keep at least 1 metre away from the edge of the pavement in the bus lane and at the turning circle. Pupils are asked be aware that as the bus starts to turn out of the parking bay it is possible that the back end of the bus will overhang the pavement, as happened in the accident.
