WHS Maths Challenge Success

Pupils at Wick High School achieved 2 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze awards in this year’s UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. Over 260,000 pupils from across the UK sat the Junior Maths Challenge with roughly 6% receiving a gold certificate, the next 13% silver and the next 21% bronze. Approximately 8200 of the top students are invited to sit a follow-on competition, the Junior Mathematical Olympiad.
This year Emma Atkins, Chloe Nicolson and Lewis Buchan received bronze awards. Grace Aikenhead, Leo Beaumont, Megan Fraser, Carys McMaster and Eve Watt received silver awards. Lucy Durrand and Caleb James received gold awards and also scored well enough to be entered in to the Junior Mathematical Olympiad competition. Lucy also received the “Best in School” certificate.
Congratulations to all of these young mathematicians.
