Our New Pupil Councils Get To Work

As reported previously on this website, we have recently relaunched our Pupil Councils. Since the start of the year, pupils have been engaged in a process of elections and interviews which have lead to the appointment of the students they would like to have represent their houses and their year groups.
The students have met on a number of occasions since their appointment and have subsequently chosen to work either as School Community Leaders or School Curriculum Leaders. Community Leaders will work towards ensuring that the school is a welcoming and inclusive place for all students and will be the main drivers in our school’s bid to be recognised as a UNICEF Rights Respecting School over the coming years. Curriculum Leaders will have a role in constantly improving learning and teaching in the school and having an input towards the school curriculum in the future.
To congratulate the successful applicants each were recently awarded a Wick High School Pupil Council badge which we hope they will wear with pride around the school and to local events when they are asked to act as school ambassadors. Photos of the presentation (kindly taken by Northern Studios) are shown below.
Pupil Council projects and news specific to their role in the school will be published on the Pupil Council page of this site; please check back for more.
