Goodbye, Old Friend…

Today the curtain came down on 107 years of Wick High School history as we said goodbye to our school building on West Banks Avenue. It was the final working day, albeit without pupils, of our beautiful original school with staff packing their belongings into carefully labelled boxes ready for the move ’round the corner’ to our brand new premises. It was a day of mixed emotions with definite excitement and enthusiasm for our move but also a real sense of sadness that such an important place in the lives of generations of local people will soon be left behind.
The school is now closed to staff and pupils for the Easter break. We will have two ‘moving days’ at the end of the holiday to unpack and prepare the school for the arrival of pupils on our official opening day, Wednesday 26th April 2017. Please keep an eye on this site as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages for further information as this date approaches.
So, goodbye to West Banks Avenue; we will miss you. Here’s to our new building and a new chapter in our school’s history.
