‘Future Chef’ Competition

The future culinary stars of Wick High School were involved in an exciting competition last week. Mrs Barclay of the Home Economics Department tells us more:

A cookery competition called ‘Futurechef 2015’ took place last week in the Home Economics department. Four very keen young cooks took part; Cobi Warnock, Keely-Anne Mcphee, Xenon Warnock and Ellie Robinson. They all did really well and were confident in showing us their cookery skills and presenting their dishes on time. The competition was judged by Alison Mackay from the Hospitality Department at North Highland College and the overall winner on the day was Ellie Robinson who cooked mini roasted cauliflowers with a tomato and spinach sauce.

Ellie will now go on to be mentored by a chef from Mackay’s Hotel in Wick in preparation for the next stage of the competition, which will take place in January. Well done to all the pupils involved.
