We are delighted to report that our highly successful netball teams have continued their fine form from last year in to this. The first event which showcased their talents was our ‘Girls In Sport’ event. This week-long event saw S1 and S2 netball teams take on Thurso High School in a friendly round-robin tournament to get the netball season started. There were two teams in both age groups, and it was great to see so many pupils keen and involved in the sport. All teams played each other in competitive and exciting matches, showing some brilliant play.
In the end, the S1 Green team; Olivia Sandecka, Emily MacKenzie, Tori Wydmuch, Emily Innes, Sarah Sinclair, Carly Hill and Caitlyn Calder, came out on top for the S1 group. In S2 the Green team; Charlotte Simmonds, Elsie MacAuslan, Blayr Howden, Izzy Alexander, Kara Howden, Erna Thain, Lily Sutherland and Ashlyn Gunn won the section. A special mention must go to the S1s who played their first tournament and did so well.

In the Scottish Cup, our S2 team competed at Thurso High School on Friday 27th of September against Thurso High School and Kirkwall Grammar School. The first game they were defeated by Kirkwall despite playing some fantastic netball. They then went on to play Thurso in the second game which went goal for goal until half time. But Thurso stretched the lead and girls just lost out. Despite losing their games the girls continue in the ‘plate’ competition and showed off some great netball. Well done to them!

Our S3 Scottish cup team competed at Fortrose Academy on Tuesday 1st of October against Kingussie High School and Fortrose Academy. The girls played brilliantly and came out on top in both games. In their first game against Fortrose they won 42-5 then defeated Kingussie High 29-11. The girls will now play Thurso High School at the end of the month to decide who is top of the group. Well done everyone!
