Wick High School Merit System Launches!

🌟 Celebrating Success: Introducing the New Wick High School Merit System 🌟

As we welcome our students back for the new academic year, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new Merit System, starting this August 2026!

Developed with valuable input from both our staff and pupils, this new initiative is designed to celebrate our pupils’ hard work and outstanding achievements. Merits will be awarded to students who go “above and beyond” in their daily school life, specifically highlighting our three core school values: Learning, Ambition, and Respect.

Here is a closer look at what we are looking for and how your child can achieve these merits:

đź“– Learning

“I try my best, take part in my learning, and use feedback to improve.”

We want to reward students who are actively engaged and prepared. Pupils can earn a Learning merit by:

🚀 Ambition

“I challenge myself, aim high, and work hard to reach my potential.”

We encourage our students to step out of their comfort zones. Pupils can earn an Ambition merit by:

🤝 Respect

“I respect myself, others, and our school community.”

A positive school environment is built on mutual respect. Pupils can earn a Respect merit by:

📱 What This Means for Parents and Carers

We want to ensure that you are a part of your child’s success! If your child receives a merit, you will receive a weekly text message letting you know. This will be sent to you each Monday.

Please bear in mind that the merit system is in place to reward the positives. Merits are for all pupils, and every single lesson is a fresh start and a new opportunity to shine.

We look forward to working together to ensure our pupils truly value their merits. Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to a fantastic and successful year ahead at Wick High School!
