The Senior girls received a tough tie against Kirkwall Grammar School which was played on Friday the 15th of November. The girls showed off some brilliant netball, but it was Kirkwall that came out on top. A special mention to Rachel Allan (S4) who was awarded player of the match for her fantastic play across the whole game.
The S3 team travelled to Inverness on Tuesday 19th of November where they met Lathallan School in the knockout stages of the Scottish Cup. After the first quarter the girls eased into the game and were getting better as the game went on. Despite playing some fantastic netball they lost out and Lathallan will progress to the next round. Carly Harrold was deservedly voted player of the match for her tireless efforts at centre throughout the match.
The S2 team travelled alongside the S3 team as they were also meeting Lathallan School in this round of the Scottish Cup. After taking the lead early in the game from lots of great defensive and attacking play, the opposition crawled it back making it an exciting game to spectate. But the girls continued to work hard until the final whistle and winning the game 20-17 and will progress to the next round of the competition. Well done to all players but a special mention for Erna Thain who received player of the match for her brilliant shooting.
Lastly, two S1 teams travelled up to Thurso High on Monday 2nd of December to play a friendly. This was a great opportunity for the girls to put all their hard work at training into practice. Wick (Blue) started their game very strong with some excellent attacking and defensive play and came out on top, winning 23-6. Wick (Pink) showed some fantastic play from the first whistle but it was very close against a good Thurso side. The girls worked hard throughout the game and won 7-4. Well done to all the girls who did brilliant in their first experience of a netball match.
